Frequently asked questions
Will my screenshot stay sharp in the PDF?
Yes. A normal PNG is placed in the PDF as it is, without being saved again as a JPG, so small text and thin lines stay crisp. Very large PNGs (over about 8 megapixels) are turned into a high-quality JPG first, to keep the PDF light.
What happens to see-through areas?
PNG transparency is kept, so a logo with no background shows the white page behind it. If you choose Balanced or Smallest for the PDF size, pictures become JPG inside the PDF and see-through areas turn white.
Why is my PDF much bigger than the PNG files?
PNG stores every pixel without loss, so busy pictures make big files. Under "PDF size", choose Balanced or Smallest and the pictures are stored more compactly.
Can I add JPG or WebP pictures too?
On this page only PNG files are accepted. To mix PNG, JPG and WebP in one PDF, use the JPG to PDF tool.
Do my PNG files get uploaded?
No. The PDF is built by your browser on your own device, so screenshots with private details never leave it.
