Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will the JPG be?

It depends on the picture. A photo saved as PNG often shrinks to a fraction of its size as JPG. A flat graphic with few colours may not shrink much.

Will I lose quality going from PNG to JPG?

A little detail is given up to save space, which is hard to see at quality 90. Keep the original PNG if you may need a perfect copy later.

What happens to a transparent background?

JPG cannot be see-through, so transparent areas become white. If you need transparency, keep the PNG.

Why does the text in my screenshot look a bit fuzzy?

JPG blurs sharp edges slightly. Raise the quality to 95 or higher for screenshots, or keep them as PNG.

Can I convert a whole folder at once?

Yes. Select many PNG files, convert them together and download one by one or as a ZIP.
