HEIC to JPG
iPhone photos often come as HEIC, which many computers and forms cannot open. Convert them to JPG in a few taps.
Files never leave your device
See-through areas become white because JPG cannot be transparent.
Working…
Keep this tab open. Large files can take a little while on a phone.
Done
To send it on WhatsApp or Gmail, download it first, then attach it in the app.
How to use it
- Step 1: Tap the box and choose your HEIC or HEIF photos. The first time, a small converter (about half a megabyte) downloads.
- Step 2: Choose a JPG quality. 90 keeps photos looking the same.
- Step 3: Tap Convert to JPG and download the photos, one by one or as a ZIP.
Your files never leave your device
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your documents and photos stay private. It is free, has no watermark and needs no sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
What is HEIC?
HEIC is the photo format iPhones use by default. It makes smaller files than JPG, but Windows, many Android apps and most upload forms cannot open it.
Why does a download start when I choose a file?
Safari can open HEIC on its own. Other browsers need a small converter, about half a megabyte over the network, which is downloaded once and only on HEIC pages. After that it is remembered for offline use.
Will I lose photo quality?
JPG at quality 90 or higher looks the same on screens. The JPG file will be larger than the HEIC, because HEIC is more efficient.
Can I stop my iPhone making HEIC photos?
Yes. In Settings, open Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG.
Is my photo uploaded for conversion?
No. The photo is converted inside your browser. The converter file is downloaded to you, and your photo is never sent out.
What about Live Photos?
Only the still picture is converted. The short video part of a Live Photo is left out.
